The GSNet aims to:

• promote and encourage the acquisition of knowledge by graduate and student members in all matters appertaining to the profession of engineering;
• present the views of the body of graduate and student members to the Institution, the Council and its Standing Committees and Boards and to consider such matters affecting the Institution as may be referred to it;
• promote the interchange of ideas and information between Regions and Graduate and Student Committees;
• to nominate, by election, its own member delegates to appropriate Standing Committees and Boards of the Institution and allied organisations and foster good relations with allied organisations.
